Sprint launching 4G in 10 cities
Sprint Nextel corp is trying to grow a much larger customer base with the announcement of a 4G wireless service and by that pass the large competitors and create a big gap between them.
While the service isn’t wide spread yet around the world , Sprint will be one of the first to launch a 4G wireless service and it will be called “OverDrive”
The high speed Internet Service is scheduled to launch next week in 10 cities and there is more planned to launch during 2010.
To further market their new service they have together with Best Buy created a partnership that will get them even more exposure with the service.
During the Press Conference at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) an Sprint Exec said that they have 27 wireless markets covered and thats about 30 million people that will get access to the 4G services.
He also talked about what he expects during the end of 2010 and that is around 120 millions covered with Sprint’s 4G services.
